When more children get vaccinated, we could reduce the spread of dangerous illnesses that make the whole environment feel safer for everyone. At Mill Brook Pediatrics, we are here to help you to protect your baby.

Common Concerns About Vaccinations

Are Vaccines Safe?

Vaccines go through long clinical testing so they can be both safe and effective, and honestly, they are checked pretty carefully. Most of the time, the side effects are mild, like soreness around the spot where the injection happens or a slight low-grade fever.

What If My Baby Misses a Dose?

If your baby misses a planned vaccine, then don’t panic. Contact Mill Brook Pediatrics. They could help you figure out a catch-up plan. Getting your child back on track sooner rather than later is usually the best idea.

Do Vaccines Cause Illness?

Vaccines do not actually cause the illnesses they protect against. Some vaccines, like weakened pieces, inactivated parts, of the virus, which could stir a mild immune response but not the real disease. If you feel a little unusual afterward, it is more like your body is learning rather than catching the infection.

Tips for Vaccination for a stress-free experience

Prepare ahead:Do bring any medical records if you have and also make sure your baby is fed and rested before you go.If you can, try to arrive a little early too.

Stay calm: Babies can sense when their parents are worried, so even if you feel nervous, be normal; it really helps during the visit.

Ask questions: Don’t hesitate. Ask your pediatrician about the vaccines and anything related to your child’s well-being.

After the shot: Once you are done, keep an eye on your baby for any possible side effects, then give extra comfort and patience as needed.
